This day is very special for me, eventhough our family isn't used to Easter Egg Hunting or other Easter stuffs. Before, I used to envy kids living in the States. Actually, even those who lives in subdivisions make me drool in jelousy. They most likely celebrate every event that comes in their way. Their elders usually host celebrations, parties and gatherings for the children and even the adults of the community! They would have games, prizes and other stuffs. Yeah! I know.. I sound so childish and immature! But really, it's different for me and my little sister. We live in Malabon.. near the squaters' area, and enclosed in this compound.. Where all we see are dim, dark celings.. machines and the half-naked factory workers whose sweat drips so hard as they endure the extreme heat caused by the plastic-releasing machines. Okay, it's not actually that we live in the working area itself. We're in the 2nd floor and we have a place that looks like a house. But when you peep outside the windows, especially the ones facing the factory.. It's like we're stucked in prison! (Wala nga lang rehas.) I don't exactly hate our place. I'm lucky to have a home to stay in. But what I want to stress is that, "I've been missing a big part of my childhood imprisoned in this place." When I was a kid, my parents would not allow me to explore new places. I don't actually have a friend in our neighborhood. (If I can call this neighborhood?)
Btw, I would like to share this lyrics..
We Are The Reason by Gary V.
As little children, we would dream of Christmas morn
And all our gifts and toys, we knew we'd find,
But we never realized, a baby boy one blessed night
Gave us the greatest gift of our lives.
We are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason Jesus suffered and died,
To a world that was lost, He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live.
As the years went by, we learned more of our gifts
And giving of ourselves and what that means,
On a dark and cloudy day, a man hung dying in the rain
Because of love, because of love, because of love...
We are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason Jesus suffered and died,
To a world that was lost, He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live,
To live, to live...
Everytime I see the cross
I'm reminded that He gave His life
For you and me...
We are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason why the Lord suffered and died,
To a world that was lost, He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live...
We are the reason but He is the reason we live
Thank you, my Jesus
Thank you, my Jesus
I thank you Lord, my Jesus
We thank you, Jesus
For God so loved the world...
(Jesus)
(Thank you)
You're worthy to be praised,
You're wortyh to be praised,
The name above all names...
***I hope you're touched by the song as much as it touched my heart.***
